Born April 2, 1977, in Steilacoom, Nick grew up in a family of public servants—his father an Army veteran and his mother a nurse and healthcare administrator. He attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, for his undergraduate degree and earned a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. After law school he was commissioned as an attorney in the Army JAG Corp where he served in Bagdad, Iraq, earning the Bronze Star, and at Fort Bliss, Texas, where he was legal assistance attorney and tax officer for the Army Air Defense Artillery Center. After his military service Nick served as lead counsel to Governor Jay Inslee, was an attorney with the Pacifica Group from 2017 to 2021, became U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Washington from 2021 to 2024, and was elected as Washington Attorney General in 2024.
