Book The Path Between the Seas: The Creation of the Panama Canal, 1870-1914 by David McCullough (1977) I have read and thoroughly enjoyed many of McCullough’s books. Panama Canal is a compelling exploration of optimism, leadership, corruption, engineering, science, and just getting the job done. Recommended by Chris Carlson
