COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS

Eastgate Elementary

The initial focus and support from Bellevue Sunrise Rotary will be:

• Reading Mentoring - Continue to volunteer getting more Rotary members involved.
• School Supplies – We will commit to supplying school supplies to fill 30 backpacks for the beginning of the school year.
• After School Program – If this program is developed by the school, we will explore our ability to volunteer time.
• Student Recognition Program – We will commit to the purchase of books for students.

We will have a continued focus and involvement with this school for ongoing needs assessment and evaluation of how Bellevue Sunrise can provide support both financially and with hands on volunteering to touch the lives of those with needs. Eastside Domestic Violence Program

Provide backpacks for children displaced from their homes due to domestic violence.

Rotary First Harvest

An effort will be made to raise awareness and club participation of this District program. Our plan is to schedule 2-3 work parties this year. Annual Budget $1,000

Rebuilding Together

Together with Synergy Construction we remodeled a house in the community. This project is an excellent opportunity to give back to the community by participating in a hands-on project. We were able to put a new roof onto the house and fully restore the garden to it's old charm. We will continue to support a rebuilding project in 2007. Budget - $2000

Highway Cleanup

We have adopted a stretch of Highway I-90 in the Eastgate area and have committed to cleaning this area up two times per year.

Friends of the Orphans

Our club has  a vibrant relationship with friends of the Orphans supporting Orphaniges and kids worldwide.

During the month of December we volunteer to “ring the bell” for the Salvation Army.

Through the Rotary Foundation our club supports projects that go well beyond our community. Through the Rotary Foundation we support the
